Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands is one of the coffee world's best-kept secrets. Sitting between 1,600 and 1,850 metres above sea level, the cool mountain air and rich volcanic soils create ideal conditions for coffees with real clarity and depth. Washed coffees from this region have a character that's entirely their own: balanced, clean, and quietly complex.
This is a community lot, the collective work of many smallholder farmers across the highlands. Only the ripest cherries are hand-picked before being fully washed and carefully sun-dried, locking in a bright, clean flavour profile that holds up beautifully through the decaffeination process. A gentle Sugarcane decaf keeps the natural body and character intact.
The result is a coffee that's both comforting and interesting. Rich chocolate and smooth caramel anchor the cup, while a bright lemon curd note adds freshness and lift. Clean, rounded, and a little hard to put down!
One of my favourite coffees very tasty
I have been using these beans exclusively for espresso drinks on a Bambino Sage. I have enjoyed a few shorter americanos, but mostly for oat flat whites pushing on cortado. I think it's doing a great job of it. Have ordered again.
New to me coffee type and very pleasantly surprised by it's rounded flavour.
I consider myself quite the coffee geek but need to cut back on the caffeine, with this I barely taste a difference to regular coffee. Delicious!
I love all the varieties offered by this company, but this one is now my favourite. I find it lovely and smooth and left with with a fresh aftertaste; vey satisfying :) As I can't have caffeine, it is hard to find a range of exciting, good quality, de-caffs from one place; often just finding one is hard!
