El Indio comes from Planadas, tucked into the southern tip of Tolima where the Colombian Andes rise into high, cool mountains. Volcanic soil, fresh air and altitudes reaching 2,150 metres give this corner of Colombia everything it needs to grow exceptional coffee, and Tolima has earned its place in the Cup of Excellence year after year.
This is a natural-processed lot, which means the cherries are dried whole so the fruit sugars soak deep into the bean. Once dried, the coffee is decaffeinated using sugarcane method, a gentle process that lifts the natural sweetness while keeping the character fully intact.
In the cup, rich dark chocolate leads the way, wrapped around a tart rhubarb brightness and a burst of juicy pineapple on the finish. Sweet, fruity and full-bodied, it's a decaf with real swagger and nothing held back.
Really tasty and interesting decaf; so nice to finally have options!
Delicious coffee—one of the best decaffeinated coffees I’ve ever tasted! I make it in my aero press.
Great!
No fancy description from me, just to say this is delicious tasting decaf, as good if not better than any caffeinated. Trying to decide which variety I like best before subscribing, a difficult task as they are all so good!
I’ve been trying each product and scoring them for a long black, espresso and mocha (my three go-to drinks). This was one of my highest scorers - great if you like a strong, full-bodied flavour with bitter notes
