This regional decaf is drawn from the Cerrado of Minas Gerais, the most important Arabica-growing area in Brazil and the first region in the country to earn its own designation of origin, much like a French wine. Farms here sit around 900 metres up on red, free-draining soil, with a long dry winter that lets the cherries ripen slowly and evenly.
Catuaí and Mundo Novo cherries are processed as naturals and pulped naturals, dried whole or part-pulped so the fruit's sugars settle deep into the bean. It's then gently decaffeinated using the sugarcane method that lifts the caffeine out while leaving the body and sweetness intact.
In the cup it's pure comfort. Melted chocolate up front, a thick ribbon of fudge through the middle, and a soft raisin sweetness on the finish. Rich, rounded and properly moreish, this is decaf with nothing held back.
I liked it, so much so this is my 2nd pack...
This feels like the ultimate classic coffee, very impressed. Very balanced, loving it on esspresso in flat whites. and also on french press.
Very impressed.
Fresh tasting coffee with no bitter taste like many decaf coffees have. Excellent company with eco friendly principles. Highly recommended.
Another good solid coffee but i think i prefer the coffees that come from above 1500m for a more complex flavour. Foe a decaf Brazil it was still like the caffeinated version would be ie lowish acidity with a mellow taste profile but as all the others have been that i have tried very appropriatley roasted.
